I
The Alley
Before the charts, before the crown, there was a dumpster behind a bodega and a cat
nobody fed. She watched the rug-rats scurry off with other people's bags and decided
that if the street was going to eat her alive, she'd at least be funny about it.
II
The Paint
A circus truck broke down two blocks over and never came back for its makeup case.
She found the blue diamonds, the red grin, the whole ugly kit. Painted it on and never
washed it off. "If it's a circus anyway," she said, "be the clown that owns the tent."
III
The Cap
Black, brim down, no logo. Nobody sees the eyes, nobody sees the fear, nobody sees the
PnL. The cap is not a fashion choice — it's operational security for a cat who is
permanently, catastrophically online.
IV
The Lizard
A green gecko crawled onto her shoulder in life four and never left. He is her entire
research department, her risk desk and her therapist. He has exactly one opinion,
delivered in all situations, at all times: buy.
V
The Cousins
Word got around the alley. Strays came — the three-legged one, the one who only trades
at 4am, the one who has never in his life taken profit. She didn't call them holders or
a community. She called them Cousins, and that stuck harder than any ticker.
VI
The Fair Launch
No presale. No VC round. No "strategic partners" who dump on the alley at unlock.
She walked onto pump.fun, dropped the coin on the same curve as everybody
else, and bought her bag with the rest of the strays. Same door, same price, same risk.
VII
The Eight Deaths
She has been rugged, farmed, front-run, liquidated at the wick, and told to have fun
staying poor by a man with a cartoon frog for a face. Eight lives spent. Eight times the
grin came back first, before the whiskers, before the pulse.
VIII
The Crown
Nobody handed it to her. It got spray-painted over her head one night by a Cousin with a
gold can and no talent, and it has been crooked and glowing ever since. That's the only
kind of royalty this alley recognises: the kind that got tagged on.
IX
The Ninth
One life left. She's spending it here, on-chain, in public, with the paint on and the cap
down and a lizard screaming buy into her ear. The ninth life isn't hers anymore —
it's whoever's still in the alley when the music stops.
The Bloodline
Where the face paint really comes from
Catardio doesn't pretend to have invented the grin. In February 2024 an anonymous deployer
put RETARDIO on Solana — no roadmap, no utility, no shame — and it turned
into one of the loudest subcultures the chain has ever produced. In April 2024 the
Retardio Cousins landed: 4,444 clown-painted, cap-wearing avatars that made
"Cousin" mean something.
What that scene proved is the only fundamental this market has ever really had:
a shared joke, held long enough, becomes a shared identity. No filter,
full chaos, and a community that trolls itself harder than any hater could.
Catardio is that same energy — with whiskers. Not a fork, not a copy. The cat that was
always in the back of the frame, finally stepping into it.
